Michael has worked at that the interface of biology, biomedical photography, education, and visual communications for more than 50 years. He has expertise with contemporary imaging technologies, instructional design, leadership in higher education, curriculum development, delivery of seminars and workshops [often microscopy classes], and medical-legal photographic services both in Rochester and a far has brought him much acclaim. 

 

Peres has cultivated approaches that integrate his broad knowledge in science, education, and photography allowing him to create specialized imaging solutions or development of best practices useful across a diverse and  very large industry . 

 

Michael has traveled across the U.S. and world speaking and  leading seminars in Europe, Asia, North and Central America, Africa, and Australia. He has been recognized by various organizations in the field of biomedical photography and education as well as numerous photographic awards including Nikon Small World. Peres was bestowed the title Professor Snowflake by endearing students and colleagues and his snowflake work has been featured on CNN, Time, Mashable, Musee Magazine, TedX, and The Forward Thinking Museum.

 

Currently Michael serves as a volunteer at InterVol and the Eastman Museum, a member of the board of directors at HumanImage, and Friends of the Rochester Public Market.
