Who is Professor Snowflake, Michael Peres.

The Beginning
of this Adventure.

Michael’s career blends science, education, and photography. What began with curiosity and a love of learning in Utica, NY, grew into a lifelong pursuit of making the invisible visible through images.

Career Highlights:

  • Nearly four decades at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where he became Professor Emeritus in the School of Photographic Arts and Sciences.

  • Awards: BCA Schmidt Medal for Lifetime Contributions in Biomedical Photography and the RIT Eisenhart Award for Outstanding Teaching.

  • Global educator and speaker, leading workshops across Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, and Australia.

  • Media features by:  CNN, Time, Mashable, Musee Magazine, TedX, The Forward Thinking Museum, and numerous other publications. 

  • Photographic work included in prestigious collections:  Eastman Museum, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Michigan, Ryerson Institute, Visual Dx, Henry Ford Hospital, Lennart Nilsson Archive, Karolinska Institutet, Rochester Museum and Science Center, and other private collections.

  • Consulting and imaging expertise for organizations such as the FBI, Kodak, Sony, Zeiss, Nikon, Merck, and others.

Now in a new phase of his life, Michael continues to share his passion for photography - this time with his grandchildren. All proceeds from sales will be directed to savings for them.
